# X may let users attach six videos to a post after employee publishes test post

X may let users attach up to six videos to a single post. An X employee published a test post that showed the change.

## X employee publishes test post with six attached videos

Taylor, who works on the X Developer Platform, published a post from her X account with six attached videos.

The post includes the text “test4” and Lorem ipsum placeholder text, so Taylor likely used it to test a change that expands how many videos users can attach to a post.

[Under the current specification, users can attach up to four media items to a post](https://help.x.com/en/using-x/how-to-post), so users cannot attach six videos.

I checked X on the web and found that users can still attach only four media items to a single post.

That means X has only reached the testing stage for the change that would let users attach up to six videos to a post, and the company has not rolled it out to general users yet.

## My analysis

X has added a video tab to its Android app and a feature on iOS that lets users react to other users’ posts with videos. The company keeps strengthening creator features centered on video.

[Is X’s Media tab missing? Where did it go? What to do when it changes to the Videos tab](https://roboin.io/article/en/2026/05/27/how-to-fix-missing-media-tab-on-x/)

Expanding the number of videos users can attach fits into that broader push to improve creator-focused features.

At this point, I do not know whether X plans to offer the six-video attachment feature as an official feature or when the company might release it.

I also do not know whether free users will be able to attach up to six videos, or whether X will raise the limit for media types other than video.

As a personal observation, I often see posts with four attached images, but I rarely see posts with four attached videos.

For that reason, I think more users would benefit from the ability to attach up to six images than from the ability to attach up to six videos.

I hope X shares more details on this soon.
