Logitech mouse/keyboard malfunction ongoing — possible outage in Logi Options+ and G HUB

Currently, an issue is occurring where Logitech devices such as mice and keyboards stop functioning.

It appears that a problem is happening with “Logi Options+” and “G HUB,” the software used to customize Logitech devices.

What is the cause of the issue?

According to a screenshot posted by an X user, it seems the cause is the expiration of the Developer ID certificate used by the macOS version of Logi Options+ and G HUB.

Software for macOS is distributed by the developer themselves and includes a signature to prove that it is the developer’s legitimate software and that it has not been tampered with.

Because the certificate required to create this signature has expired, the signature has become invalid, and macOS can no longer verify whether the software is legitimate—so Logi Options+ and G HUB appear to have stopped working.

What are the workarounds?

The most reliable option is to wait for Logitech to distribute a new version of the software.

According to a Reddit post, as a temporary workaround, it may start working again if you set macOS’s date back by a few days.

In the X post mentioned above, the certificate is shown as expiring at 20:39:41 GMT on January 6, 2026, so it should work as long as the macOS date/time setting is earlier than that.

The author has not verified this workaround and doesn't recommend because this workaround may cause issues with other software, so if you try it, do so at your own risk.

Settings and profiles will be retained, and the software version will not change even after the fix.

Also, this issue does not affect Windows environments.

I've been using JavaScript more than my native language since birth. I am nowhere and everywhere on the internet.

I build web apps and browser extensions in TypeScript as a web frontend programmer. I released Shadowban Scanner, a tool that detects shadowbans on X, and Restore Link Card, a tool that brings back link cards. Media outlets in Japan and abroad covered both tools. On my blog, I cover news about X and social media, test and troubleshoot bugs, and share frontend development insights.
