What are the monetization requirements?

To monetize X, you need to meet the requirements for creator revenue sharing.

The requirements for Creator Revenue Sharing are changed from time to time, but at the time of writing, accounts that meet the following requirements can apply for creator revenue sharing.

• You are subscribed to X Premium, Premium Business, or Premium Organizations
• You have earned 5 million or more organic impressions within the past 3 months
• You have 500 or more verified followers
• You are located in an eligible country

First, to apply for Creator Revenue Sharing, the account must be subscribed to X Premium on the Premium plan or higher, or be subscribed to Premium Business or Premium Organizations.

Premium Business and Premium Organizations are paid subscription services for businesses, so for individual users, the requirement is to be subscribed to X Premium on the Premium plan or higher.

Applying is required for monetization

Even if you meet the requirements for Creator Revenue Sharing, monetization does not happen automatically.

If you want to monetize, you need to apply from X’s monetization page and complete procedures such as identity verification.

Under the specifications at the time of writing, if you meet the monetization requirements at the point you apply for Creator Revenue Sharing and are approved, then even if the requirements later change and you can no longer meet them, revenue will still accrue.

However, Creator Revenue Sharing may be suspended due to violations of the terms of use or guidelines, and in that case, revenue will no longer accrue.

From how much can you get paid?

Even if you meet the requirements for Creator Revenue Sharing and your application is approved, it does not necessarily mean that revenue will be paid out.

As with many other monetization services, a minimum payout amount is set, and if your revenue is below that amount, it will not be paid out.

The minimum amount for X’s creator revenue sharing is $10, and if your revenue is under $10, it will be carried over 2 weeks later until it reaches $10 or more.
