Main changes

The main changes in Shadowban Scanner v4.1.0 are as follows.

This update allows for the detection of shadowbans and sensitive flags in more cases! Thank you to everyone who reported bugs and other issues with Shadowban Scanner.

  • Added support for detecting X's internal graduated access check and their impact on account reach.
  • Improved detection for post age restrictions across more scenarios.
  • Fixed a bug where Shadowban Scanner would crash for certain accounts.
  • Dropped support for X Pro.
  • Updated to reflect the latest changes in X's specifications.

According to a report from the Australian government (PDF), X imposes graduated access check and restricts the reach of new accounts until their authenticity is verified.

With this update, Shadowban Scanner can now identify these limits and their effects on your account's reach.

We have also expanded our ability to detect age-restricted posts.

It seems that X has recently started hiding sensitive media flags behind their server-side implementation.

While we cannot detect these hidden flags perfectly yet, we have updated the extension to catch as many as possible. We have a solid lead on how to detect these server-side flags with high accuracy, so you can expect further improvements in the next update.

Lastly, I have some unfortunate news: Shadowban Scanner will no longer support X Pro.

X Pro was previously included in the Premium tier of X Premium, which I subscribe to. However, it has since been moved to the Premium+ tier, effectively making it seven times more expensive, which makes maintaining support for it unfeasible.

Shadowban Scanner is no longer actively supporting X Pro, as it has become difficult to verify its functionality.

It may continue to work on X Pro for a while, but no fixes will be provided if it stops working in the future.

Request for support

Shadowban Scanner is a hobby project by the developer, but it takes a lot of time to develop and maintain. If you have the means, I would appreciate your support for its development.

I've been using JavaScript more than my native language since birth. I am nowhere and everywhere on the internet.

I build web apps and browser extensions in TypeScript as a web frontend programmer. I released Shadowban Scanner, a tool that detects shadowbans on X, and Restore Link Card, a tool that brings back link cards. Media outlets in Japan and abroad covered both tools. For iGEM 2023, I built the Wiki for Team Japan-United and helped the team win the Grand Prize. On my blog, I cover news about X and social media, test and troubleshoot bugs, and share frontend development insights.
