X rolls out X Money to paid users in the U.S., with Grok integration and revenue payouts

X has released its financial service, X Money, to some Premium+ users in the United States. X plans to collect feedback from eligible users as it prepares for a broader rollout.

Dhruv Batura, who works on X Money, posted that X has started offering X Money to some Premium+ users in the United States.

He said X will collect feedback, fix issues, and prepare for a broader release through this limited rollout.

He also said X will offer internal perks to early users for a limited time.

X Money features

According to the preview, X Money comes with a metal Visa debit card that shows the user’s X account name and charges no ATM withdrawal fees or foreign transaction fees.

X applies an industry-leading interest rate to funds, with no minimum balance requirement.

X Money supports passkey protection. X also enrolls funds in the X Cash Sweep Program, which provides FDIC insurance coverage of up to $10 million.

According to AIBEAST, a regular user who received early access to X Money, X Money includes 6% interest, 3% cash back, and a $25 welcome bonus, and users can add the virtual card to Apple Pay.

Allegra Jacchia of X posted that all U.S. creators who participate in Creator Revenue Sharing and Creator Subscriptions will be able to receive their earnings through X Money.

Jackson, who works on X Money at X, posted a screenshot showing that he had received Creator Revenue Sharing through X Money.

Jackson also posted that he likes the feature that shows the merchant and its X profile after he pays at a physical store with the X Card, which suggests that X Money includes a feature that links card payments with profiles on X.

X Money includes Grok integration

X Money appears to include Grok integration as well. Jackson posted images showing him asking Grok “food spending this month” and “find my flights” inside X Money.

Based on these images, Grok inside X Money appears to let users handle financial information in natural language, such as checking monthly food spending and searching for flight-related expenses.

My analysis

Many users have long complained about account suspensions and restrictions on X, and some say they do not want to trust their money to a company that can suspend an account with little warning.

Users also disagree about the X Money debit card showing their account handle. In Japan, many users use X under pseudonyms, so many feel uneasy about linking offline card use to their X account.

As AI has advanced in recent years, some users have started analyzing their own spending and accounting data with AI tools such as Claude Code. Money Forward has built AI features into its service, and freee offers an MCP that users can connect to AI.

Once X integrates Grok into X Money, X Money will compete with domestic services such as Money Forward and freee in spending and income management.

At the same time, tax and accounting tasks such as tax returns and expense processing differ by country, so domestic services will likely keep an advantage for anything beyond personal budgeting. Domestic services should also keep an edge in connections with local banks for the time being.

X Money sits at the center of Elon Musk’s long-stated plan to turn X into a super app.
