X employees Zach Warunek and Allegra Jacchia posted that X has added a verified account filter to the analytics it offers to subscribers of its paid subscription service, X Premium.

X adds verified account filter to analytics

X Premium subscribers can use analytics to track changes in metrics for their own accounts, such as likes and impressions.

When you enable the new filter, you can view data from verified accounts.

Verified accounts refer to accounts with badges such as blue or gold badges. Users can obtain a badge by subscribing to the Premium plan or a higher tier of X Premium.

The verified account filter is easy to use.

  1. Open X Creator Studio

  2. Open analytics from [Analytics]

  3. Click the [Verified] button shown in the [Account overview] section

By default, analytics includes data from accounts that are not verified. You can click the [Verified] button to narrow the data to verified accounts.

Data appears to lag when you enable the verified account filter, and data from the past day or so does not appear.

According to Warunek, the data lags when users enable the filter because X collects the data once per day, and the team plans to improve this in a future update.

What this means

Jacchia teased the ability to view impressions from verified accounts inside analytics on May 9, and X has now shipped that feature.

X calculates creator revenue based on impressions from verified accounts in the home timeline, so the addition of a verified account filter to analytics should give creators more transparency.

On May 19, X added a feature that lets users check the number of active followers inside analytics. X has also taken a creator-focused stance by stripping monetization from accounts that steal other users’ content.

I've been using JavaScript more than my native language since birth. I am nowhere and everywhere on the internet.

I build web apps and browser extensions in TypeScript as a web frontend programmer. I released Shadowban Scanner, a tool that detects shadowbans on X, and Restore Link Card, a tool that brings back link cards. Media outlets in Japan and abroad covered both tools. For iGEM 2023, I built the Wiki for Team Japan-United and helped the team win the Grand Prize. On my blog, I cover news about X and social media, test and troubleshoot bugs, and share frontend development insights.
