Undo and Redo buttons have been added to the post composer in X iOS app.

By tapping these buttons while composing a post, users can now perform the text editing actions "undo" and "redo" with a single tap.

Undo / Redo buttons implemented

The Undo / Redo buttons added to X iOS app are placed at the bottom right of the post composer, allowing users to cancel their most recent edit or redo an action they have undone while typing.

As of March 12, signs of movement toward implementing these buttons had already been observed, and reports that they were actually rolled out began increasing around March 24.

The Undo / Redo buttons have been implemented in the iOS version of the X app, but have not yet been implemented in the Android version of the X app or the X Lite app.

On iPhone, undoing and redoing text edits could already be done with a three-finger swipe or, depending on settings, with "Shake to Undo," but many users are still unaware that these features exist.

By implementing Undo / Redo buttons on the post composer, X now makes it easy to revise text even without knowing the OS's standard gestures.

X offers X Premium subscribers a feature that allows them to publish long-form posts exceeding 280 characters, and Undo and Redo buttons are especially useful when creating long posts like these.

New post composer features continue to arrive

Recently, X has been rolling out a series of minor adjustments and new features related to the post composer.

In early March, it implemented an "Made with AI" label indicating that a post contains content created using AI, as well as a "Paid partnership" label indicating that someone is promoting a product or service in exchange for compensation or incentives.

In addition, this "Made with AI" label is now automatically added to some content that X's system determines was created or edited with AI.

In this way, X has recently been making repeated small improvements, even if they are not large-scale ones.

I've been using JavaScript more than my native language since birth. I am nowhere and everywhere on the internet.

I build web apps and browser extensions in TypeScript as a web frontend programmer. I released Shadowban Scanner, a tool that detects shadowbans on X, and Restore Link Card, a tool that brings back link cards. Media outlets in Japan and abroad covered both tools. For iGEM 2023, I built the Wiki for Team Japan-United and helped the team win the Grand Prize. On my blog, I cover news about X and social media, test and troubleshoot bugs, and share frontend development insights.
