X(Twitter)

X Premium has three plans: the cheapest Basic, the mid-range Premium, and the most expensive Premium+, but font changes are available on all plans.

When you subscribe to X Premium, buttons for changing the font are added to the post composer.

On the desktop web version, a button labeled B and a button labeled I appear at the bottom of the post composer.

With the text you want to change selected, pressing the B button makes it bold and pressing the I button makes it italic.

In the mobile app, tapping the button with a small A and a large A side by side reveals the same B and I buttons as on the desktop web version.

Free method

Using this website, you can change the font of a post for free.

This website also lets you change fonts outside of X, but basically you can only change the alphabet and cannot change Japanese or other fonts.

Also, strictly speaking, it does not change the font but converts characters to different ones, so there is a possibility that some websites or tools will not find them in search.

To change the font on this website, enter text in the text box, then find and click the button for the font you want to apply below.

If you click a button while only part of the text in the text box is selected, only that part’s font will be changed.

Which method should you use?

Which is better to use: the paid official feature provided by X or the unofficial free feature?

If you simply want to change the font for free, the free method is recommended.

On the other hand, if you want to change the font of Japanese text, you need to use the official paid feature.

I've been using JavaScript more than my native language since birth. I am nowhere and everywhere on the internet.

I build web apps and browser extensions in TypeScript as a web frontend programmer. I released Shadowban Scanner, a tool that detects shadowbans on X, and Restore Link Card, a tool that brings back link cards. Media outlets in Japan and abroad covered both tools. For iGEM 2023, I built the Wiki for Team Japan-United and helped the team win the Grand Prize. On my blog, I cover news about X and social media, test and troubleshoot bugs, and share frontend development insights.
