The web version of X (Twitter) has finally added support for saving thread drafts.
Nikita Bier, X’s Head of Product, revealed this on his own X account.
X has a feature that allows posts to be saved as drafts when you close the posting screen after entering text.
This feature is available on the Web, Android app, and iOS app.
On the Android app, it has already been possible to save thread drafts for some time (iOS status is unknown as the author does not own an iPhone).
However, until now, the web version of X did not allow thread drafts to be saved, so users had to either use a notes app or save drafts on the mobile app.
With this update, users no longer need to use a notes app or X’s mobile app to save drafts when using the web version.
Aaron, an analyst at MacRumors, posted that synchronization of drafts between the iOS and web versions of X will soon be available, suggesting that the implementation of thread draft saving on the web may have been in preparation for synchronization with the mobile app, which already supports saving thread drafts.
Currently, draft synchronization is available on the iOS app, web version, and Android X Lite app.

This change is described by Bier as “some small upgrades for power users,” following the recently added feature that allows sorting of likes.

The previous day, as part of a series of upgrades, Bier announced that X’s iOS app had begun using a native media picker.

I build web apps and browser extensions in TypeScript as a web frontend programmer. I released Shadowban Scanner, a tool that detects shadowbans on X, and Restore Link Card, a tool that brings back link cards. Media outlets in Japan and abroad covered both tools.
