Synced Drafts: Web ↔ iOS

Nikita Bier, Head of Product at X (Twitter), announced on his X account that the iOS app now includes a feature to sync drafts with the web version.

Bier said, "After 10 years of asking, we are finally rolling out synced drafts."

The exact timing of when the draft feature was implemented in X's iOS app is unclear, but given a 2015 post on Apple Community referencing the feature and Bier's post, it appears the draft feature has existed since around 2015.

According to Bier, syncing drafts between the iOS app and the web may have some bugs, and media sync is not supported.

X recently added the ability to save threads as drafts on the web, which may have laid the groundwork for syncing with the iOS app that already supported saving threads.

Bier says draft sync is coming to the Android app soon.

X Lite for Android already supports draft sync, so it likely won't take long to roll out to the regular X app.

X has recently rolled out a series of new features that Nikita Bier calls "some small upgrades for power users.."

I've been using JavaScript more than my native language since birth. I am nowhere and everywhere on the internet.

I build web apps and browser extensions in TypeScript as a web frontend programmer. I released Shadowban Scanner, a tool that detects shadowbans on X, and Restore Link Card, a tool that brings back link cards. Media outlets in Japan and abroad covered both tools. For iGEM 2023, I built the Wiki for Team Japan-United and helped the team win the Grand Prize. On my blog, I cover news about X and social media, test and troubleshoot bugs, and share frontend development insights.
